Monal Top Trek starts at just Rs. 5,500 for four days near Rishikesh. Experience sweeping Himalayan peaks by trekking through oak forests and rhododendron meadows to an altitude of 10,500 ft. From April through June and September through December are the best seasons for a budget-friendly and long-distance trek. We offer customized packages for groups as well. Day Wise Detailed Itinerary of Monal Top Trek

1. For reaching the Wan village best thing is that you have two option either you choose from Dehradun/Rishikesh side or Kathgodam side. It’s equal in distance from Dehradun & Rishikesh. So you will not face any problem of transportation.
2.We pick you up early in the morning at your pick up Dehradun/ Rishikesh Bus Dept/ Kathgodam (with extra charges).
3. We will reach Wan village late evening. Our team will meet in Wan Village, they will help you check-in to your Hotel/ Lodge/ Guest House.
4. Dinner and Overnight stay in Wan Village. Stay will be in guesthouse

1. After delicious breakfast we move from our first camping site Deli Gate.
2. Today’s trek will totally ascent but we can cover this distance with our own speed. Deli Gate is situated in the middle of the forest.
3. After a few moments of rest, the climb must continue crossing a little stream to enter a mixed forest slowly thickening with oaks and rhododendrons.
4. Dinner and Overnight stay.

1. Today, after breakfast, we will start our trek to our next campsite Huneli which is again ascent from here.
2. Huneli is a very large grass land which it self is very beautiful from here. You can see Mt. Nandaghugati which is very big in size and some other Mountain range like Chaukhambha, Neelkanth, Kedarnath, Kedar Dome.
3. The best thing of this campsite is that in night you can see Galaxy.
4. Dinner and Overnight stay in Tent.

1.Being a summit day, today we will start our trek as early as possible so that we reached the Monal Top before the sunrise.
2. Time depend on weather condition of that particular day.
3. Today’s trail is totally ascent. Once we start gaining the height you can see Himalayan mountain range throughtout the trek, which increase adrenaline in our body.
4. Once you reach the Summit point Muniyal Top you can see paranomic view of the Garhwal Himalayas range and all nearby villages in this valley very clearly.
5. Spend some hour at the Monaltop and then return to our campsite.
6. Dinner and overnight stay at Kukina Khal. You will stay in tents.

1. Kukina Khal is the Border of village Wan and our neighbour village Kanol. You can also see the Kanol village from here.
2. After breakfast we start down the trek to our Guest house/Lodge. It take 3-4 hr.
3. In evening you can explore the our beautiful village.

How To Reach Dehradun for Monal Top Trek

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport serves Dehradun domestically, with regular flights coming in from major metro cities in India.
By Train: The nearest railway station is the Dehradun junction, which is well connected to major cities from all over India.

It has been named after Himalayan bird, which is state bird of Uttarakhand, Monal.It is very endangered bird which can be seen during the trek. It is best for both the beginner trekkers and with family.

The Monal Top trek typically starts from the quaint Rasi village located 20 km from Rishikesh. You traverse through the villages of Seri and Deola on well-defined trails offering spectacular views of the snow-clad Bandarpunch, Swargarohini and Chaukhamba peaks. The route meanders through oak, rhododendron and pine forests with a high chance of spotting exotic Himalayan birds and animals. On Day 3, you arrive at the Monal Top which is a vast grassy meadow dotted with vibrant wildflowers in summer. Spend the night camping under a blanket of stars with the Milky Way galaxy overhead. Descend back to Rasi village on Day 4 after enjoying a spectacular sunrise from the summit.

Best Time for Monal Top Trek

The ideal time to do Monal Top trek is between April to June and September to November. Summer (April – June) – Pleasant weather with average temperatures of 10°C to 18°C during the day. Rhododendrons in full bloom and clear skies ensure excellent views. Monsoon (July – Aug) – Heaviest rainfall makes the route prone to landslides. Trek best avoided during monsoon. Autumn (Mid Sep – Nov) – Post monsoon season offers the clearest skies with temperatures dropping below 10°C at nighttime. Peak foliage can be seen in the forests. Winter (Dec – Mar) – Heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures can make the trek challenging. Trails might be blocked. Avoid unless highly experienced in winter trekking.
